Welcome! I’m Dan Gates, a Minister, Spiritual Director, and disciple of Jesus. My interests are usually connected to the life of faith and spirituality, not only the Christian tradition but wherever I find people of wisdom and insight. I enjoy learning from other faiths and those who challenge the whole idea of faith. Reading, music, art, nature, deep conversation: these are all things that bring joy to my life.
I am particularly interested in spiritual direction (or spiritual accompaniment as it is sometimes known). I recently trained at Sarum College which offered a wonderful blend of self-directed study, practical experience, and group supervision time. Our times are challenging, we all know that. Yet in hard times we are invited to dwell in the deeper realms of life, to learn from those who have gone before us, to listen more closely to what is being said in our inner being. To help us on that journey, we can meet with others who will commit to going with us and will help us to listen. I have benefitted from this gift myself and now want to offer it to others I meet on the way.
